Pregnancy is
characterized by strong changes of the body, both externally and
internally. This is why this period is said to be demanding both
physically and mentally and to deal with all these changes rightly,
one need to be strong, inside and outside. Fear and apprehensions
often cloud the mind of any women once the pregnancy is confirmed. Her
mind will also be filled with questions like Will I be able to take

emotional experience for all women. But often this is accompanied with

Yoga is a great ancient technique and it has got its own tools to help
pregnant women. The fact is that many people are not aware of the fact
that yoga has many tools especially designed to help pregnancy. Yoga
has 5 vital tools for pregnancy. When followed together, they work
wonders on your health and your capability to have a smooth pregnancy.
Yoga not only helps in an easy and natural childbirth but also in the
mental and physical development of the foetus. The importance of yoga
in pregnancy is that it helps women to give birth to a healthy baby in
the most natural way, which is every woman’s dream.
Mainly there are five tools that are aimed for pregnancy and they
include different yogic exercises, meditation, yogic sleep, breathing
exercises and mudras.
1) Yogic Exercises: this includes several asanas. Asanas are specific
body poses designed to improve the awareness and muscular flexibility.
And in yoga there are asanas specially designed for pregnant women and
are meant for making the childbirth so easy and natural. There are

You can extend your time later on as per your need and capacity. And

3) Yogic Sleep: The aim of yogic sleep or yoga nidra is complete
physical, mental and emotional relaxation; it is done by sitting in a
position known as savasana and it is best practiced under an
experienced guru. It is important to remain awake and aware during the
practice. A very special feature of Yoga-nidra is 'Sankalpa' which
means a 'resolve' the relaxed body and mind are ideal soil for making
a resolve.
4) Breathing Exercise or Pranayama: Pranayama is basically a
disciplined breathing practice and it improves the supply of oxygen,
which is so important to life. There are several advantages for this
process. It induces tranquility, relaxation and a feeling of well
being, it also improves breathing capacity and tunes up the nervous
system.
5) Mudras: These include several specialized gestures, which can
stimulate different systems in a living body. These mudras can
strongly influence the activities of women’s reproductive organs.
